Hello Again Ray,
I responded to your hours earlier post regarding your search for a new physician. Please check that thread. I am so sorry this has happened to you.
Ghilly has given you good suggestions and as I said if you check your earlier post you will find my suggestions. I doubt anyone can give you a specific name of a physican. It will take a lot of work by you. As I said earlier you have a right to your medical records. In addition the medical community will know what happened to your clinic. Please start making those calls and see who can see you soon. And as I said before don't forget about ER if you get into trouble.
Good luck to you and let us know how your search is coming along.
Peace, Tuck
Sorry to hear that you're going through this! Talk about a nightmare!
Right now, your only option is to get out the telephone book and start calling pain management physicians to find yourself a new one. I would tell them everything that happened, that you were a patient of this doctor for some five years, tell him what medications you were taking and how they were working for you, and ask if they can help you, that you need to get with another pain management specialist ASAP. Chances are the doctors in your area are going to be aware of what happened to your doc, news of that nature travels quickly among other doctors and people in the medical profession. Also, pain management doctors know that their patients develop physical dependencies on their meds, and that they will go through withdrawal if they don't have their meds. It's not a sign of addiction, it's a perfectly normal reaction for the human body to have when it has been given opiates for a prolonged period of time and then the opiates suddenly cease. Also, call or stop by your previous doctor's office and see if there is any way you can get your records, it will make things easier, because under the circumstances, another doctor may be reluctant to simply prescribe meds on your own say-so since your previous doctor's charges include medical fraud. This is a horrible situation for you to be in, I realize, but you've got to take the bull by the horns and just start looking for another doctor. In the meantime, if you start to go through horrible withdrawal, perhaps a trip to the ER with an explanation of what happened might help, they might give you at least SOMETHING to take to help the withdrawal symptoms, if not the pain, until you can find another doctor. Good luck to you, and please keep us posted as to how you are doing.
