I have pain in both outer thighs. It starts in my buttocks, to my outer thighs, to my outer calves, to my ankles, to the outside of my feet. I am unable to lay on either side due to the pain. It is a pain that radiates. It starts out as a low achiness, builds to a low pain, builds to a major pain and then subsides. This happens when I lay on either side. When I turn over to the opposite side it begins to subdside in time with the other side to start. Needless to say it makes sleeping difficult since I'm not a back sleeper. If I sleep on my belly I have to make sure neither outside thigh is being laid on. I'm a 6o yr old female, still working, not overweight. I'm 5'7" and weigh 149. OTC meds do nothing for the pain. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia several yrs ago but I believe it has nothing to do with it. I started having probs after being put on Lovastatin. I have quit taking it and take 1200mg of fish oil and 41 mg of baby aspirin daily. The other pains I had while taking statin have went away but the leg issue has been going on for 6-8 months. I asked the dr about it and he said it was something(?) common for my age. There has to be an answer somewhere.
