My wrist has been hurting for the last 7 days, I didn't injured it, even thought may job is computer base, I also have been under a lot of stress with work, school and my family life. Is this a stress pain and not carbal tunnel?
Hi Adiana,
Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am glad you found us but sorry to hear about your wrist pain. Could you have strained it in anyway?
Wrist pain can be caused from many different conditions. It is difficult to pinpoint just one. It could be a tendonitis, a ligament sprain/strain or possibly a repetitive stress injury. Only some diagnostic tests and a good clinical assessment can determine the true source of your pain . X-rays are fine for bone structure disorders but wil not reveal soft tissue injury. Your PCP may want to treat it conservatively to see if it will resolve on it's own. You may want to make an appointment if you are not improved by Monday or a trip to ER if it becomes acute.
In the meantime remember RICE. Rest, ice, compression and elevation. Additional NSAID's taken routinely and according to label directions may help reduce any inflammation in the joint.
I hope you are soon feeling better. Please let us know you progress. We will look forward to your updates. Take Care, Tuck
I'm sorry i really don't know. If it is still hurting you might want to get a x-ray done just in case. Like i always like to say better safe then sorry!!
i thought that too, but would it still be hurting after 3 days?
could you have slept on it funny??? I have done stuff like that with parts of my body!!!
