Have you consider getting a laparoscopic cholecystectomy? I had my gallbladder removed in December. I was getting horrible gallbladder attacks and no, there wasn't a stone stuck in the bile duct or blocking the pancreas. There was just one stone that was in the gallbladder and when removed was still in the gallbladder along with sludge just waiting to form more stones.
The pain is only going to get worse as more stones are destined to form and they can end up causing life threatening complications. The surgery is a day surgery, patients are typically discharged from the hospital the same day. I have four very tiny incision scars as they didn't have to do an open surgery.

It can cause pain. Eating fat can make it worse so you might want to watch your fat consumption.
It is more than likely due to you gallstones. You should go for a check up with your doctor to make sure one is not stuck in you bile duct or getting severe enough that you are at risk of rupturing you gallbladder. I just had mine removed and I was very lucky. Mine was close to rupturing and I had a large stone stuck in the duct. The area around my gallbladder was tender and when I ate it would swell a little. I also got to where I was having the attacks with vomiting. I didn't think it was that big of a deal because the attacks were not very frequent and I was not in a lot of pain. The surgeon had trouble getting my gallbladder out and I almost had to have a open surgery due to infection and swelling. My gallbladder was sticking to my liver. I hope you are pain free and in better health very soon. Best wishes, Sissie
