Misuse of Forum/Spam Posts

I'm not sure where to post this and I'm not even sure if this forum is still being "monitored" by the community leaders - I've not seen them online in quite a while.  However, I'm hoping maybe someone can help me/give me an answer.

In the past, and again this morning, there have been several posts that specifically are advertising the sale of prescription narcotics online.  I, myself, find this terribly offensive - as it's already so difficult sometimes for those of us in chronic pain to get the LEGITIMATE pain meds that we need.  Doctors are already so very leary of prescribing meds sometimes because of people abusing their meds - and that includes selling them.

Anyway - I just wanted to know if there is anything else that I/we can do to keep these posts from appearing?  In the past, and again this morning, I have reported these posts but I'm not sure that this is the correct and/or only thing I should be doing.

If anyone either can tell me what else I can do to keep these posts from this site or if there is a different place I should ask this question, I'd be greatly appreciative.

thanks so much!

No need to be sorry.  The ads annoy me as well.  I was getting tons of mattress ads when I was online searching for a mattress and whenever I order a pizza, pizza hut ads pop up on the screen.

I think geminigirl is referring to actual posts to the board from people advertising the illegal sale of prescription drugs, not the actual advertisement banner ads on the sides and top of the webpage.

I haven't seen any of these posts yet probably because the moderator already removed them before I signed in.

Hello, I think this is terrible.  I think what happens is that your browser somehow "knows" what you have done a search for or someone else has done and it posts ads.  I keep getting ad about wigs, I have been searching for something help my hair.  I thought it was this place, then found out it was my browser.  You can go to tools and change your settings to block the ads, I will try to find out how you can do this.  I "think" you go to tools, then options, then block.
