Im not on any long acting meds so I cant really help you in your question. I can however empathize with you. When I get up in the night to use the bathroom, and when I get up in the a.m. for the day, I can barely MOVE. My back (and legs, arms, neck ) are SO STIFF. I walk hunched over and lean on furniture for the first half hour or so. I always set my coffee pot to make my coffee for 5 a.m, and I take my 1st dose of medicine with a cup of that as soon as I get up.

Moring Grampyhiltz,

I think you mean that back stiffness and aching pain that we can get after a night's rest. Am I correct or are you talking about another pain?

It would seem to me that the long acting med would relieve the immediate discomfort upon rising...and than when you take the short acting med it should take care of any pain the long acting one isn't handling.

If I didn't understand your question,  please correct me. You are a man of few words!  :)

Have you started your long and short acting medications yet?  How well are they working for you?

My Best to You,
~Tuck
