Shoulder

Acording to my trainer i have tendonitis in my rotator cuff. Any ideas on how to ice and streach it? He is tapeing it during practice and games and that helps but still hurts like during school. And I have PE this semester and it hurts in some of the activities we do any ideas?

Tendonitis is inflammation of the tendon either through injury or overuse.  Mainly through overuse.

To help get better you should not do physical exercises or any lifting.  The tendon needs to be rested to heal and you can use pain relief as prescribed and anti inflammatory medication if you are OK with using that.
If you do get prescribed with anti-inflammatory drugs, make sure that you take it with or after food because they can cause problems with your stomach.

Although you do need to rest the tendon to allow it to heal, you still need to do gentle exercises as recommended by a physiotherapist to stop the shoulder from becoming stiff or the tendon getting calcified.  If you have not already been referred for physiotherapy, it would be a good idea to talk with your doctor about this.  The doctor would also be able to give you a medical note for the school explaining the reason why you are not able to take part in certain activities.

I have found that applying cold natural set yogurt (not the runny one, Greek yogurt is fine) helps by cooling the area that is damaged and also it helps to relieve any inflammation.  You could apply this (or get someone to do it for you) to your damaged shoulder and lightly cover it.  You could do this in the evening before bedtime to allow the yogurt to work overnight.  You may feel a difference after one application, or you may need to apply it for a few days until you start to feel any benefit.  It is worth a try to see if will help you.

Depending on the damage, a tendon can take a few months to heal.
I didn't know about the properties of yogurt when I damaged my posterial fibrial tendon whilst using a treadmill and it took 9 months before I could walk on my leg.  Hopefully, your tendon problem will heal a lot quicker than that.

Having severely damaged my foot whilst falling backwards into a hole and not being able to walk on it because of severe pain and swelling, I applied lots of yogurt and wrapped it loosely with a bandage.  After 24 hours it was as if there was never any problem.  I was truly amazed.

Yogurt is also helpful for sunburn and when suffering from itchy and burning skin on any part of the body.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Yes. You have to stop exercising until it heals. Obtaining a medical exemption from PE is a simple matter. I mean you aren't in the NFL. In the meantime DSMO will ease the problem. Use only medical grade on clean skin and follow the precautions noted on the internet.
