Hi Frankie,
I'm sorry you are having leg pain after you gastric bypass surgery. Both my wife and I had Laparoscopic procedures done in September of 2007.
I have had no problems to speak of but my wife on the other hand has had some leg pains since the surgery.
Mainly horrible cramps. When she told the surgeon he said it could be low potassium or a vitamin defiency. Make sure you are taking in PLENTY of fluids daily, vitally important after having this type of surgery for the rest of your life.
You are still not too far out from your surgery so I hope things start to improve for you.
I would definately advise you to speak to your bariatric surgeon and see what his/her input is.
What you are describing sounds like a nerve issue to me as I experience the same issues due to spine injuries and spinal fusion.
It could also be peripheral neoropathy for a number of reasons.
A medical professional can best advise you on the correct course of action.
Keep us posted on things.
All the best.
Brian.

Hi Frankie,

Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I'm sorry you are having such horrid thigh pain.

We have a member that had a gastric by-pass a while ago. I will contact him and see if he has any thoughts.

Could it possibly be related to a vitamin or mineral deficiency? Have you discussed this with your surgeon? If not I encourage you to do so.

Others will post with more information than I have and I will contact our memeber. Good luck and take care, Tuck
