Pancreatitis Pain more frequent

Hi,names Jason & i was diagnosed with hereditary pancreatits at the age of 14.Im 18 now & have been hospitalized more then 15 times since my first attack. Its been just 6 months since last time Ive had a big attack and hospitalized once more, but recently in these past two months ive been having pain in my stomach again that has been coming & going.I do as what the docters have told me by taking my pancrease enzymes & to not eat until pain gos away but no relieve in my pain that comes more frequently now more then ever.I guess my question is should i seek more treatment to get more cat scans & m.r.i to see if there is any damage or thinking about finally getting on a pain management to deal with my pain & bring more activeness to my day to day bases.

All you have to do is contact the clinic and request to records department to obtain your medical records. In all likelihood you will have to sign a release form.

It's an easy process.

Hi Jay,

Welcome to our Pain Mangement Forum at MedHelp. I am glad that you found us and took the time to post. I am very sorry to hear about your long term pain. You are so young to know the meaning of Chronic Pain.

You've asked a tough question. How long has it been since you had a good clinical evaluation? How long has it been since you have had imaging? If it has been more than six months I beleive I would ask for more recent images to see where you are in the disease process.

If your physicians can offer you nothing more in the terms of treatment I would than request a referral to a Pain Mangement Physician. Life is too short to live with un-managed pain. As you said it is time to bring more activity into your life.

I wish you the very best and hope that you will soon find releif. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.

Take Care,
Tuck
