Hey philnoir!Thank you so much for your kind advice, I really appreciate it! Your great explanation of the drugs you recommend will definitely be crucial for me to choose the right drugs that are safe to consume at the pharmaceutical! You were really spot on about the breathing difficulties and i might really give codeine a go if the pain persist. No worries, with your help i believe i will get well soon!
Clumsyfella, don't be too hard on yourself for this incident.
The soft spot is probably a small hematoma. Treatment is to apply ice, and try an OTC NSAID for pain and to reduce swelling. Aspirin is still a great NSAID, and is proving safer than any of the newer drugs.
Enteric coated aspirin moves the drug through the sensitive esophageal and stomach linings safely into the small intestine, where it can be absorbed.
Under that bruise or hematoma may be a slight fracture -- there's little that can be done. These small fractures heal in a few weeks, but that can make simple pleasures like breathing painful. This is one reason I would insist on a mild analgesic, like codeine, if you need it.
If, of course, the pain gets worse, or you do not have relief within a few weeks (sorry, but vagueness is the nature of giving an opinion on the internet), see your physician. If the pain becomes unmanageable with aspirin, see your physician.
Best wishes.
