I'd like to second Tuck's point about starting a new thread.
Look at the dates of these threads. Many of them were from the "Golden age" of MedHelp and are at least 6 years old.
Personally, I ignore many of these posts, because I do look at the dates. If the post is from 2007, I'm not going to reply, because I figure its old news.
If you must refer to another post, copy its URL and paste into your new post. You can say:
I feel just like so and so in this post
http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Pain-Management/I-had-Total-Knee-Replacement-5-weeks-ago-and-I-am-still-suffering-severe-pain-especially-at-night/show/3243
This way we can refer if need be, but your post will get more attention because it is contemporary.
Also, pick a descriptive subject for your post. The better information we receive, the more we can help.
We know living with chronic pain is tough -- we're all chronic painers ourselves.
Hope to be hearing from you.
Thanks for your added thoughts and suggestions. I agree!

Please all, begin a new thread/question! Don't tack onto an old thread even if you think it's appropriate.
Thanks So Much,
~Tuck
Warm Greetings Members and Visitors,
I'd like to encourage everyone to begin a new thread (question) when making a comment or asking a question - or just venting. Please don't hijack another persons thread. We all try diligently to provide new, correct information. Old threads often contain outdated information.
Many things have changed within Pain Management (PM). Laws have changed as have procedures and attitudes and so forth, too many to list.
To post a question just click on "Post a Question" located in the green box in our top blue banner under Pain Management Community. If you require assistance in beginning a new question please feel free to ask me or any of our members. I thank you in advance for your cooperation.
We look forward in hearing from you.
Ditto Phil.

Please Read!
Thanks,

This is very important.
The peer counselors here do not have the time to read through hundreds of posts in old threads.
Please read the date of the forum to wish you respond.
If it is contemporary, within the last month, then you will get an answer.
But if you are replying to a post that is not current, chances are that you will not receive and answer.
We leave these old posts up because they are filled with information and inspiration.
If you have a problem, post a new question... then we can see and respond to your post.
Phil,
Thanks for the additional words. I've missed a lot of new posts on old threads. Unfortunately I don't think anyone reads this!
~Tuck
I know people will continue to do this, but I don't read them anymore.
Perhaps I should say that if a poster doesn't want me to reply to their message, just add it on the back of an old thread containing at least 100 messages.
I tend to neglect them as well. Well focused threads are simply much more useful for all involved. Might be nice to have a max limit for a given thread and then to force an addendum thread, if so required.
You're correct. I've talked with the "powers that be" about closing these old threads to further comments - as have many other CLs. Hopefully this is happen at some point.
I like it if the original poster returns to their thread with updates - but hijacking someone's thread I see as a bit rude.
I think it has improved the last few months - guess we'll see if it continues to improve. Thanks for your comments - here and on the forum. :0) You offer good help.
