suboxone for pain associated with surgery

I initially went on suboxone for opioid withdrawal three years ago and stayed on it for pain management for my condition of multiple sclerosis that can be very painful at times.  I stopped the suboxone one week prior to having a breast augmentation which contained alot of scar tissue and needed the implants replaced.  I am currently on opioids for the pain connected to the surgery and I am still experiencing alot of pain, assuming It is coupled with my ms pain.
My question is will the suboxone after day six post surgery give me enough pain control instead of the opioids.  I plan on returning to suboxone although part of me wishes i could stay off of it and have not pain.  I hope someone can answer my question. thank you.  rebb8

I take oxycontin and oxycodone for break thru pain. I also do exercises that my doctor prescribed me to do.
I recently started swimming and using the hot tub for my muscle aches and it works wonders. My niece just finished massage school/college and she practices on me as well:)

thank you so much for your response.  I would never take suboxone and opioids together as I know how sick i would become.  I will have to stay on the opioids right now until the pain decreases from the surgery then make a decision about whether I want to go the whole suboxone route again.  I hate taking suboxone then everytime I have to have some sort of a procedure I have to detox and go through the whole thing again.  if you dont mind me asking Sandee1818 what do you do for all your pain issues.?

Suboxone is used for pain management but it was intended for opiate withdrawal. I assume you do know you can not take the suboxone with any type of opiate as it will make you very ill.
As far as using for post surgical pain I would not think it would provide enough pain relief for you. When you do decide if you do to take the suboxone again make sure all the opioids are out of your system.
of course it is up to you and your doctor and your pain level but the opioids would provide the best pain relief at this point I believe.
