burning pain

I have had this burning pain on my right lower side above the hip but right below the rib cage for about 2 weeks now...I can't sit for long, lay down, walk, or stand cause the pain is awful...on average the pain is about a 7 on my days which are often now its a 10...last week went to the hospital because the pain was intense and I was vomiting, they did a CT scan and a urine test they all came back fine...went to the doctor for a follow up and the pain was still there and he thinks I could have passed a kidney stone cause there was blood in my urine but at the hospital they didn't find anything...they have given me pain pills to help but it doesn't do anything I still feel it...please help me!!!

Thank you for responding...but I still have that burning throbbing pain...I have bought therma-care to put on it I had it on for a hour and just made it worse to where I couldn't even move and then I tried to put on a cold compress and wow!!! I was in pain so imbareble that I swear I couldn't move at all...I've called my doctor and he says just keep going to the hospital because he won't see him until the 19th of this month but he did order another round of urine and blood tests...I believe its my gall bladder because I have about 8 of the symptons 1-nause 2-queasy 3-headaches 4-minor fevers 5-farting & farting way more then normal 6-urine smells 7-urine very cloudy 7-sharp pains above and below the belly button and that started about two days ago 8-never ever comfortable...my stomach is very bloated...the burning throbbing pain increases even more at night where nothing I do helps me at all...And I do remember that before all this I was getting really bad heartburn where my medication wasn't even helping at  all.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems.  Yes, kidney stone, kidney infection and urinary tract infection can all cause pain in the flank region (above the hips and below the rib cage). Hence all these three things should be thoroughly re-investigated, especially since you had blood in urine. The other possibility is a pinched nerve in the back, detected through a MRI. It can also be shingles if you see some rash.
A urine culture may help detect infection if the routine test is normal.
Please consult your doctor regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
