Hi and welcome.  Everyone here is a chronic pain patient and there are no doctors on this forum.  But there are loads of people with lots of knowledge and great suggestions.  Maybe someone who's had experience with this will be on later.

Do you think your varicose veins and your stomach and rib issues are connected or separate problems?  Have you seen a doctor?  How long has it been going on?

Varicose veins can be very, very painful.  My mom had them, and back then they used to strip them but they do it differently now.  Once she had them done, though, she didn't have any more pain.

Are you on your feet a lot?  I believe they can be hereditary but I know jobs where you're on your feet a lot can worsen them.  For comfort measures, I'd elevate your legs with pillows when you can.  I'm not sure if Tylenol or ibuprofen would help.

WIth all you have going on, though, I think you really need to call your doctor; especially about the swollen abdomen and rib pain.  Varicose veins are pretty painful but not life-threatening.  The abdominal swelling good be a number of things, most pretty minor, but you really need to get it checked asap.

Varicose veins are gnarled, enlarged veins. Any vein may become varicose, but the veins most commonly affected are those in your legs and feet. That's because standing and walking upright increases the pressure in the veins of your lower body.
Sometimes varicose veins lead to more-serious problems. Varicose veins may also signal a higher risk of other circulatory problems. Treatment may involve self-care measures or procedures by your doctor to close or remove veins.
Treatments are availble for Varicose veins and can even be removed. Have you seen your doctor about what options you have for treatment. Also to be tested for other more serious problems. If not I would suggest you do.
Did your doctor say whether or not the muscle under your ribs has anything to do with your stomach being swollen? There could be many reasons for your stomach to be swollen, are you having pain from it?
If you feel like your doctor is not offering you any solutions or answers it may be time to get a new doctor. It sounds like you need a full exam to find out what is going on and why.
I am sorry I do not have more answers for you.
Please let us know how you are and what the doctor says and like I said find a new one if your not getting any answers.
