Hello, did you ever find out what was going on with your head ache when doing push ups and pull ups?
Yeah that sounds like a good idea. I should have gotton a physical before starting this new workout. I'm very sad to say that I'm 200lbs and haven't worked out in years. I'm doing the P90X now and it's deffinatly a workout that's intense. It's just a very big concern to me that why I do any type of cardio or weight lifting it doesn't bother me but when I start doing push ups or pull ups it kills!! In the begining it would come as a pain that would go away if I continued to workout, but just the other day I was doing normal push ups and on number 6 (when o normally do about 15-20) I got this VERY interse pain and like I said above it felt like my brain stim was being stabed!! It hurt for a good hour and then just turned into a normal headache for the rest of the day and the next morning. I just don't want to hurt myself and become unmoveable from the head down.
Hello and Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum.
It's difficult to guess what may be going on. It could be a pulled muscle, they can be horribly painful. It could be a spinal structural issue. My suggestion is that you see your PCP for a good clinical evaluation. He/she can determine if some imaging may be beneficial and provide him with more information.
I would suggest that you do not engage in any activity that causes or increases the pain until you have been evaluated. Some times you can do more damage by continuing your normal activities. Pain is our brains way of sending us a warning signal that something is wrong. It is always best to "listen" to that warning.
Please let us know how you are doing and what you discover from your clinical work up. Best of luck to you and please take care.
Peace,
Tuck
