Too much Pain do handle

I have constant pain in my limbs.  Aching and throbbing from my shoulders to my finger tips and from my hips to my toes.  I am having to take a lot of pain medicine to get it under control and I cannot figure out why its not stopping and don't know why it started to begin with.  I am miserable and I  am going to run out of my pain meds early for the first time ever.  Any ideas??  I am DESPERATE.

Hi Teawah,

I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and let yo know that we are glad that you have joined our Forum and also let you know that there are NO Doctors on this Forum. There are ONLY CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that help each other by sharing our expertise and experiences with our OWN CP.

I'm sorry that you are having to go thru all of the pain that you are.

What is your Diagnosis? How long have you had that Diagnosis?

How long have you been on Pain Medication? Do you  have a PM (Pain Management) Clinic or Doctor or do you see a PCP Doctor to get you meds from? Which meds are you taking?

I'm asking these questions because the answers to them are what will define our answers to you. If you have a PM Doctor or Clinic, chances are that you are under a PM Contract. IF you are that means that you could be in serious trouble if you run out of your Pain Meds Early.  As Gemini said, you could be kicked out of your PM Clinic and be Red Flagged. That would make it VERY difficult to find another PM Dr.

I'll be looking forward to your update so that we can help you with MUCH better solutions!!

Good Luck....Sherry

Do they know what the cause of your pain is? (diagnosis?)  You definitely need to talk to your doctor about changing/increasing your pain medication if it is not adequately controlling your pain - adjusting your dose on your own can be very dangerous, and could cause you to be released from your doctor's care - something you defnitely don't want to be faced with.

It's quite common for our bodies to become "immune" or tolerant to our pain meds after we've been on them for a while, so it's quite possible that a change in medication is in order and would help.

Please keep us posted on how you're doing.

Did you have some kind of injury to cause this? Do you see a pain dr? My advice would be to talk to your dr about how your meds are not contoling your pain, that maybe a change is needed. I wouldn't tell them about you running out early cause that would only cause more problems. what meds are you on now?
Hang in there
