Cyclobenzaprine/Flexeril

Hi. I am wanting to quit taking Cyclobenzaprine. I took 20mg a day off and on, like twice a week for 2 years, and then started taking the 20 mg every day for the last 13 years. I plan to wean off, and am wondering what to expect as of withdrawal symptoms. Also, does anyone know of a natural med I could take in it's place? If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it :)

Hi I just happened across your post.  I am sure others will be a long very soon.  While you are waiting for the pros here; I would say, if I were you I would slowwly wean down.  Your body is used to getting this medication.  It is going to be looking for it.  This is just my opinion, I am not a doctor.  I have taken flexeril, could not take more than a 1/4 or I would feel very odd.  Maybe that was a good thing.  You can get a pill cutter and start cutting your dose.  We aren't allowed to talk about how to dose hopefully you can get the jist of this.  While trying to wean down I would up your vitamins.  There is something called a Thomas Recipe but that is for narcotics,so not sure if it would work for you.  Your muscles may need more magnesium than normal.  Taking Epsom salt baths would help as well. Lots and lots of water.  Short walks every day.  Were you taking for muscle cramps?
I am having computer problems but will come back, my son is bringing a new one tonight
If possible please go slow.  I hope someone stops by that has had this problem, if not I will search.
Good luck, Dee
