What's going on?

I am a 20 year old female and overall, I am very healthy. I have recently developed some problems related to the heart/chest area. Randomly, my heart will start beating very fast accompanied by chest pain, trouble breathing, dizziness and after all these symptoms are over with, I always get an awful pressure-like headache. Today, I noticed pain on the left side of my head, sort of behind my ear, and also a little shoulder pain. I do have sports induced asthma but have not used an inhaler for over a year. I have taken birth control since I was 15 and my doctor switched me a year ago to a new pill. I thought maybe it was the birth control because at first I also had tender breasts. However, I have stopped taking it for about two weeks now and the only change is that my breasts don't hurt anymore. All of my symptoms started about a month ago. Am I overreacting or could something be wrong?

Hello MontanaGurl. Thanks for you reply. I actually have been under a lot of stress lately but it seems as if these "spells" come suddenly without reason. For example, the other day I was at work pricing clothes and all of a sudden I felt all the symptoms. It's not like I stress out at work and I rarely have my mind on those problems when I'm there. If anything, home and school would make me feel like that.I have no family history of migraines or panic attacks. I haven't yet been back to the doctor after I stopped taking the birth control.

hello and welcome to the site.  do you have a history of migraines?  sometimes they can cause a variety of symptoms that seem unrelated.  another question is that of stress or anxiety / panick attacks?  have you been going through stressfull times or having anything going on out of the ordinary?  do you have any other health issues or is there anything in your family history similar.  alot of questions - sorry, you said that you talked to a doctor about the symptoms but, have you told him that the symptoms did not go away with the change of your birth control?
