That is ridiculous "I hate going to a doctor if all they are going to do is provide meds" -- that is a PASSIVE attitude -- you go now, and you show up and TELL them you want to find out if everything is okay, YOU are in the driver's seat my fine lady, if they offer you meds, just say NO if you don't want them.
The thing is, if a muscle relaxant will help SPEED healing, don't be so stubborn. And if an NSAID (e.g. ibuprofen) will stop or slow down calcification which in the long term might be harmful, then, again, don't be so stubborn.
