went back today after demanding to see the real doctor and he agreed with me and promptly gave me another tox screen and 15 days of the meds i was needing.if tox screen is goodthey will give me a 30 day supply.i guess this is a good end to the story but i think this is a good topic for people who have other prescibed meds....take only what they tell you to take .when i was asked to submit another urine test they want to know only what pills i have taken the last 2 days so im assuming almost all drugs are out of your system within that time frame.he even told me 3 percocet may not have shwn up anyway....so stay clean of any wrong doing so to speak at least 3 day prior to your visit to assure you no confussion as i had,in the event of a random tox screen.only thing is im marked and have no warnings because of this and i was in the right.....o well.....im in less pain so do what you must do to be wherte you want to be.

It sounds like some of these pain clinics are as punitive as methadone clinics. They don't give you the benifit of a doubt and think all patients lie. What's the latest? all the best

Hi.  I'm brand new here, this is my first post, but I have to say that I have NEVER had a positive experience with a nurse practitioner in all my years of going to doctors!  I can't understand why the NP at your PM clinic would do what she did, other than she's trying to play doctor herself.  For some reason, IMO, many NPs have the "drunk with power" syndrome and tend to want to throw around a lot more weight than they actually carry, even if it means using nefarious means to do it.  I never even knew that my neurologist HAD a NP working with him until I had called in for my monthly refill one month.  I had just seen the doctor the month before, which gave me three call-in refills before I needed to see him again.  Trying to be a good PM patient, I called on the day before I was going to run out, just so that nobody could say I was calling in early.  I relaxed and waited for my FedEx with my prescriptions to come the next day, when the phone rang at 7:00 that night and it was the NP from my doctor's office, and she started going on and on with me about how he couldn't send me my prescriptions because she didn't feel that I should be taking what he was prescribing, what with me having COPD.  COPD?????  I've never been diagnosed with COPD!!!!!!  I asked her whose chart she was looking at and she read off my name.  I asked her where the H E double hockeysticks she came up with a diagnosis of COPD and she said that the doctor had made a note on my chart about it, and that she would not approve the prescriptions without talking to him because of it.  Long story short, next day my husband got in the car and drove the two hours to his office to pick up my prescriptions, it turns out that I had had bronchitis during one of my visits to him, and he had made a note that he wanted to watch me as time progressed because I, being a smoker, might become prone to COPD, and that would alter my prescription regimen if it ever happened.  The genius NP TOTALLY mis-read what he wrote and I almost didn't get my meds on time that month thanks to her ineptitude.  She must have messed up with more people than just me, because she is no longer working for him, but it goes to show how much trouble one person with a God complex can cause.   If she is going to be there, it might be best that you find a new PM doc anyway.  You don't need any more run-ins with her.  They have to give you at least a 30 day supply of your meds to give you time to locate a new doc.  Take the scrips, thank them, and go do just that.  You'll be better off.

Sounds like she was just looking for a reason to "fire" you as a paitent.
There is not really much you can do except demand she treat you until you find another doc and she has to leagly for 30 days, try and be nice about it though you catch more with honey than vinvger ya know. I was in your situ kinda I was taking oxy and lorcet 10 and had some ultram from long ago and was very ill throwing up so instead of taking my oxy and lorcet i took the ultram so I would not waste my good meds well of course the ultram showed up and even though I told the nurse she lied sid I did not so my doc fired me and refused to treat me even for the 30 days so I obtained legal counsel and made the dr comply, not recomended he was very angry at me but I was in a bad situ taking 120mg of oxy/lorcet daily and to be pulled off was awful. I went to the ER just to document the pain and distress I was in for records for the attorney. But you do have rights fight for them!!!!!

she asked how many perc i took in the last 2 days and i told her 3 thinking there was no diff between the two and the fact they are both yellow.i told her that they were a prescibed med and i had the bottle to prove it. they were left over when they switched me to perocet from the hydros.i have had over 30 diff. meds written to me and when they ran me out due to appt error i took three hydros to get me through the pain which requires stronger meds than they even give me. but in todays medical age and abuse these nurse practitioneers at these pain mngmt places are very soft to write what you may really need out of fear for their job.i have a degenerated S-1 and total disc collapse in L3-4 and the same in L4-5. i need to have titanium disc replacement but cannot at this time due to no one to take care of me after surgery.i am broke while a await some type of settlement but till then im in pain and broke ....now this situation. she gave me 3 OC10 for 3 days....then down to 2 for 3 days then 1 on the last day to ween m3e off the oc 20 and percocet ive been taking. not much help when what i was getting(2 10/325 percocet and 3 OC20) for my condition.thanks for the advice and any more i may recieve.

percocet is oxycodone and tests different than hydrcodone. Did u tell them u ran out of percacet and took left over hydros before the tst?
They can do whatever they please you could use the law they hav to treat u for up to 30 days till u find a new dr.
They get extremly mad when they r lied to, Just try and talk to them CALMLY and tell them the situation an ask them to treat you till you find new dr they have to up to 30 days
