11 year old with extreme mood problems

I have an 11 year old daughter and i need help.  she is a very bright girl. she attends a private christian school and is very very smart for her age. but she has EXTREME mood swings. she will be increadibly happy and talkative one minute and if you say something she takes it to offense and begins crying hysterically.  she cries ten or more times a day. she is extreamly disrespectful and mean. i have a 16 year old daughter that does not behave this way. she will have fits to where she screams at the top of her lungs and cries uncontrollably for no reason. no amount of reasoning or disipline will get through to her. she is extreamly stubborn. she is around 120 pounds and there is nothing i can do to control her eating. my family is not overweight and we eat healthy and exersice. i know there isn't something right with her i just don't know what. i was thinking it was bipolar disorder but i'm not so sure. does anybody have any suggestions?

Yes! you can control her eating ,you buy the food in the house so you buy healthy and let her eat whatever she wants... only in your fridge and cupboards will be fruit and carrot sticks and healthy dip, Yoghourts , jello is great, there are many books on healthy cooking get her making up some meals ,  take her to the store and let her choose some foods, only all healthy. If you are concerned about any disorder a visit to the Doctor would be the best thing .Visit our healthy cooking Forum and ask for recipes she can help you with.Ask the rest of the family to go healthy aswell ,overweight or not. When she gets upset dont feed into it make less of it not more, try distraction, that works at any age even with Adults.get Dad involved with fun and games ,exercise and outdoor activities, get her onto a multiple Supplement of VitC and Vit B Complex, and some fish oil,  Good luck
