My child is crying at school

My 8 year old daughter is crying uncontrollibly at school anytime she is confronted by her teach reguarding the simplest of questions such as the other day she had taken off her shoes and when asked to put them on she started to cry to the point she was sent to the priciples office and now the school is concerned with her behavor. This has happened in the past but it only happens at scool not at the daycare where she goes for before and after school care but only at school. I think she is having an anxiety attack and if so what would be the best way to help her in these situations?

Please read my comments to "6th grade daughter vomiting before school
by tpsumral  Aug 12, 2008 09:46AM".  This post deals with anxiety and the reply addresses this issue.

Sometimes the best way to help your child is to seek professional help - and since your child is eight years old, then it is time to see your family doctor.  It appears as if this "problem' has been on-going for several years now. Let me assure you - if your daughter does suffer from anxiety, she will not outgrow it nor will it go away.  If your daughter does indeed suffer from anxiety, it will be the parents duty to educate the school how to best "interact" with their child, and you will require professional help to do this.  If you have any further questions, please write back.  I wish you the best ...

These are a lot of hours for a child to be away from home would it not be possible for her to have less hours and spend more time with you and her Mom. It sounds as if the problem is at the school and the Teacher cannot cope, it seems a trivial thing to get a little girl to put on her shoes, and send her to the Principle and then a letter, perhaps you need a school that can do better.than that.ishe could be anxious because the school is so rigid.
