Preschooler is Masterbating

My 3 1/2 year old daughter has recently started masterbating. She will get on top of items and hump them. She has also starting sticking stuff down her pants.  She has never done anything like this before and we are very careful as to what she watches on TV.  How can we get her to stop? I tell her that it is not appropriate to do that...but she is only three.  She has also had problems with UTIs in the past.

It isnt right to put a child into time out for masterbating... its normal for children to do it, especially of that age

Children explore their own bodies when they feel ready and its not right to stop them getting to know themselves and their body

Best thing is to act normal with her, my daughter started when she was 4 by lying on her bed naked with her hands and fingers below, just cuddle her, shes abit young to talk to if she is only 3, but in a year or so, explain the boundries so she is aware if anyone does anything to her that crosses them boundries she will tell you

So sorry to hear that. My daughter had the same broblem when she was around the same age as your daughter. The only way I got my daughter to stop was to put her in time out and tell her that isn't not right to do that. But for the post part I think it's normal for all kids to be curious about their own body. I know a ton of girls that go through that. Not ashame to say it but I was like that growing up and then stoped.
