Children's Health

My 10 yr old son has developed a small , painless lump on the rightside of his neck and on his rightcheek after cold and fever. What can it be ?

What exactly is a lymph node and is it dangerous ? !!

if it is still enlarged I would take him to the doctor to have it checked out,

I think that will depend on how long the infection lasts , has he any symptoms ?

It sounds like a Lymph node especially as he has had an infection, if you are concerned about it and its getting larger it may be a good idea to have it checked out ...good luck
