my child  has general development delay, since aged 12  suffered a breakdown of some kind.  and now has child psychosis and currently taking olanzapine 10 mg.  Her moods vary from very good to moody, delusions, temper outburst, withdrawal, extremely tired and not making sense when talking.   What side effects does this drug have, are they doing more damage to her, do any  vitamins help and which ones should she take? I am having sleepless nights  just thinking about her, will she ever recover.  I would really appreciate your suggestions and help on this matter.  thanks

Yes I also believe that some meds can have the side effects and the symptoms you mention are some . It would be best for her if you had the dose checked and see if it needs changing, I would also agree that there are supplements out there would help her and be less invasive ..good luck

Hey, Fish oil (omega 3) can be good for treating mental health in children and adults, normally people with such health problems need more of the fish oil but it is health options with less side effects. But make sure if you do get it don't get the fish oil with mercy as that is toxic. Maybe talk to your doctor or a alternative medical person to see if fish oil would work for your child. Good Luck!

side effects of this drug include akathisia (an inability to sit still), constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, insomnia, dry mouth, tremor,weight gain, just to name a few.
