HELP 2 year old with fever for 7 days now

my son is 2 he got a cold on friday and has had a temp since then i took him to the ER on sunday and they said he has something viral but also that he had an ear infection so they put him on amoxiciilian he is still on the amoxicilin and still has the cold and fever if i stop giving him the motrin or tylenol he gets a fever again. Is it normal to have a fever this long? What should i do Dr. says wait it out some more if not then we will take cultures

I agree with what your Dr says ..there have been many virus's around this year ...If he is still unwell and causing concern take him back ..good luck
