When I was pregnant with my daughter I was sent to a high risk doctor for medication related questions. While at my appointment with the high risk doctor, he did a scan on my baby & found that she had "masses" in her stomach. After closely monitoring the rest of my pregnancy & delivering via c-section with a room full of NICU nurses & pediatric surgeons to examine my baby after delivery, she turned out ok. A couple of days later they took her for an ultra sound of her stomach to see what they were dealing with. They found 3 masses in which they wanted to leave alone for the time being, but they also found that my daughter has a double uterus in which both are fully functioning. They kept a close eye on her masses for the first year of her life & we watched the masses regress on their own (PRAISE THE LORD). My daughter is now 4 & we took her into the doctor for some suspicious bruising. All of her blood work & urinalysis looked good, but the doctor wanted to send her for an ultra sound to recheck her stomach. The findings are that her right ovary has a small cycst on it (which her doctor said was normal), but also they found that one ovary is much larger than the other. One is 0.4 cm (I think they used cm) & the other one is 2.04 cm. Her pediatrician called & told me she wanted to consult with a GYN for treatment but that was a week ago, should I be so concerned as to be jumping up & down in their office or would I be over-reacting? What is going on with my baby girl?
