I'm currently trying to conceive I had sex during my fertile period and on my ovulation day and after. It's seven days before my next period and I'm not sure what it feels like if I'm pregnant. Please let me know are you really bloated with horrific gas. Breast are tender sight nausea and constipation. Just want to know something before taking a laxative, because I don't want to cause something to go wrong if I am. Please help

Thank you all for all the advice. I took half a laxative last night and somewhat less gassy but still very bloated. Fingers still set and hopefully two weeks I can post I'm pregnant. Still won't take a text till after I miss period for at least five days. Don't want the same feeling of rejected if I'm just psychosomatic.

Well..@aaharmony one would hope that we are all stating factual info provided to us from a legally practicing doctor; however,  to imply that I or anyone assumed you were "shooting answers from the hip" means that you thought I insinuated that your info "was nilly-willy" info but my post was not to imply that. The mom2be wanted answers to her post so that's what I gave based on the info I know...not attempting to discredit anyone at all. I can't help that my pregnancy safe list is different from yours...I ANSWERED A FRIKKIN POST. I find it funny that you say you didn't want to debate but then you had to come back to the post and let it be known that. "you didn't give a nilly willy response" and that right there said that you did want to debate  because you would've left it at your initial post and been done. In case you didn't know...it's common for people to receive different info according to each doctor so there was no harm in me saying what my doctor stated to me because the poster may have wanted to know some doctors say laxatives are a no no.

Furthermore,  since using this app I've never had to come across any defensive person like you and Ive always tried to answer as many questions as possible for people with factual info, but, it's people like you that don't like when people post a conflicting post to their knowledge/belief that make folks that truly try and answer post and be supportive run from this app. So, In the future, don't bark if you don't want to get bitten....it's no pleasant want to put it.

FiberOne bars also work, but only take one unless you want serious gas pains.

I'm not trying to start a debate, I just wanted to say I wouldn't recommend something that wasn't on my "Safe Medications to take while Pregnant"  list. Anything I suggest is recommended by a doctor, I don't just throw ideas out willy-nilly.

Unfortunatel,  I was told by my doctor and so have everyone else I know...NO LAXATIVES OR ENEMAS ALLOWED AT ALL...that's why so many pregnant women complain of constant constipation.  The.doctor did however state that I could use benefiber powder, miralax powder...all fiber drinks...and that I could also use colace which is a stool softener. The doctor stated that laxatives could cause contractions that could be harmful to an embryo/fetus/baby.

As for symtoms, everytime I've been pregnant I oddly get sick with a bad cold/flu that I just can't shake, feel like I'm pms-ing or going through an early menopause, sleepy like I've been drugged, constipated, everything taste nasty, food smells disguisting and I lose my appetite for everything.

Best wishes to you and I send lots of baby dust your way :-) .

My husband and I had been trying for almost two years.  The only symptom looking back on it that showed different than pms was the hot flashes. I was burning up one night, kept fanning myself, my husband was like " It's not hot, why are you fanning yourself? " I thought I was going through early menopause lol, turns out I was pregnant.

Early pregnancy has always felt like PMS for me except 2 things, well three actual. #1 complete exhaustion! #2 slight nausea (but only 3 of the 5 times) and the big one for me #3 I just knew in my heart! I always waited until I missed my period but usually the bloating (which I got from PMS) was really bad right before a positive pregnancy test. They sell them at the dollar store so you could go and buy a bunch and just take one a day until you know for sure either way! I'm pulling for you! Motherhood is where it's at!

Thank you I've taken half a laxative now but still hope everything is all good. Never had this much bloating and gas ever. I had breast surgery so the tenderness I over look due to sensation from the surgery but can't seem to over look the bloating. Lol thank you all for the help.

Hiya, I'm 38 and 8 weeks pregnant. I had all the same symptoms of a period during the two-week wait between ovulation and missed period (bloating, tender breasts, etc). It was really hard to tell whether I was pregnant or not.  The only difference was that toward the end of the two weeks, I no longer retained water...I was urinating frequently!  I'd recommend to hold off on any meds for two weeks just in case.  If needed, doc told me to use stool softners and Tylenol.  Good luck!

Thank you both, been holding out on the laxative just because I didn't know. Hopefully much relief in the morning.

Agreed.. If you can hang in there and wait it out till  you've at least missed your period to test. I'm 36yr old and am 7wks pregnant with no symptoms besides heavy bloating. Best of luck to you!

You can take a laxative when you're pregnant, so no worries there.
I just hope your symptoms aren't psychosematic, but those are common symptoms of pregnancy.
Take a test in a few days. It might be a little early though, so don't be sad if it comes out negative.
Good luck.
