First U/S today and nervous

I am 5W6D.  Its being done early because of my previous m/c's.  I know Dr. told me we may or may not see a heartbeat, but I am hoping so hard that we do.  I think I would start to relax and enjoy a lot more.  Wish me luck!!  Still no more bleeding besides that one episode sunday night.  I feel positive, but so apprehensive.  If you have time this morning, a quick prayer would be so appreciated.

Yes, both of my ultrasounds were transvaginal.  The first one at 5w6d I saw the gest sac and the fetal pole, it was no bigger than a piece of white rice.  I told my husband that we would not of been able to see a heartbeat because it was so darn small.   The second one, exactly 1 week later, we were shocked to see how much it grew in 1 week.  As soon as my RE put the probe in we saw that it was bigger and saw the heartbeat right away.

With all 4 of my other miscarriages, I knew everytime I woke up in the morning that I was having a miscarriage.  It was like someone stuck a needle in my breast to deflate them.  I had all my energy back and my BBT temp dropped.  So I just knew, I'm very in sink with my body.  It's just so hard for me not to stress and worry over this pregnancy.

So for you...Don't give up hope.  Everything will be fine, just try and relax for the next 4 weeks, eat healthy and get lots of rest and you will see a heartbeat in 4 weeks.

Take Care ~ Debbie

You have no idea how reading your post comforted me.  It was exactly what I needed to hear.  Again, there is the logical part of me that knows that so far there is no reason to believe anything is wrong.  Logical me also knows that you will usually get a heart beat on transvaginal ultrasound anytime between 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 weeks, and all those times are still normal.  But hearing someone having the exact same thing as me on the exact same day, then 1 week later all being fine relieves me to no end.  Thank you thank you thank you!  By the way, were both your ultrasounds transvaginal?

Wow everything that you just typed was me last week.  I just posted a few minutes ago.  I went for my sonogram last week, I was 5w6d and that doctor told me before he even started to ultrasound, too not be concerned if we didn't see a heartbeat, well we didn't.  He brought me back in 1 week and we got to see the heartbeat today.  Everything will be fine.  Also, my symptoms are the same way, they come and go all the time.  Some days I feel pregnant and some days I don't.  I just keep praying because it's in the Lord's hands.  Hang in there, keep your chin up, keep parying and everything will be just fine in 4 more weeks.

Take Care and try not to stress.

You are exactly right in your thoughts......pray about it. And at that 9 wk appt you will see those little arm/leg buds popping out with a strong heartbeat.  My measurements are off a bit like yours....DR said same....dont worry about it. As long as the growth pattern is consistent going forward you are good.

I cant wait for next Tues....my baby will look more 'baby' and less blob like LOL.  Ive got fingers, toes and bones forming.  It just seems incredible the growth process. You are going to be there sooner than later. So keep thinking positive and count down the days to seeing your little "bean" getting bigger.

Yeah, the 4 weeks is a killer.  He had initially said 6 weeks, and I told him I couldn't wait that long.  I guess the reality is that in first trimester, everything will either be ok or it won't, and there isn't a thing anyone can do to help me.  I want a guarantee, and no one can give me that, so I just have to wait.  There is no reason to believe all is not well.  No spotting, no cramping (well, besides the usual mild stuff).  And I know symptoms are different with everyone, so thats no indicator either.  What will be will be.  If I hadn't had m/c's in the past, I wouldn't be remotely concerned, as I know everything so far is typical.  I just wish I had been one of those lucky ones that saw a heartbeat early.  But as someone said, if they had been really worried, I would be in a lot earlier than 4 weeks for next u/s, right?  And the only evidence so far of any problem was the one bleed on sunday, but the sac is right where it should be, and nice and round, so doesn;t look like  a problem. It is also bothering me that it measured 5 to 5 1/2 weeks, and I was 5W6D, but as my Dr. said, even though I know when I had my LH surge, its impossible to know when I actually conceived, so not worried about the minor discrepency.  I just have to believe all is well.  Thanks again for all the support, it means a lot. This is going to be a very very long 4 weeks for me.

If your doctor was concerned he would have scheduled you for next week.  I think that you are progressing as you should.  A 4 week wait is a turture though.  I really feel for you. I am only 4 weeks but freaking out about no symptoms myself.  I do hope that all of the "joys" of pregnancy will kick in for you soon.  I know that would make me feel better.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the good wishes everyone, I sure appreciate it.  The u/s went ok I guess.  They did both abdominal and intra vaginal.  The sac was nice and round, measuring just about right (they said 5 to 5 1/2 weeks, and by LMP dates would be 5W6D).  Problem with my LMP dates is they suspect I had a chemical pregnancy, so that could be off.  No heartbeat yet though.  My Dr. wasn't even remotely concerned, said it was too early, and even though I know when I had my LH surge, its impossible to know when I actually conceived, so no big deal.  I am dissapointed though, I really was hoping to see that heartbeat.  Anyway, if no problems, I am back in 4 weeks to see whats happening.  I guess I will worry until I am safely through the first trimester.  The other thing sort of bugging me is that besides fatigue and on and off mild nausea, I really have no symptoms.  My breasts aren't sore at all.  Oh well, I guess only time will tell.
