I had a breech baby which they turned at 37 weeks, way to early to try turning him now as if there are complications he would be born to early, you could try acupunture, that has a reasonable rate of success
My OB hasn't even checked position yet (I am 30 weeks) because she says it doesn't matter right now.
I read a book written by a midwife last year and she theorized that babies will stay in the position that is best for them. That is why some babies move right back to the "wrong" position after being turned...they are getting better blood flow through the placenta in their preferred position.
Most can be turned just before at just as labor begins.
from previous experiance my other children have already had their heads down low by now so this is why im asking what i am as its not norm for me....he was on the side long ways untill a month ago and turned the other way instead of head down, he is a big baby and they r keeping an eye on that also.... no big deal just new to me thats all.
i had a student midwife but the normal midwife was in the room.
I would not worry. At 29 weeks babies still turn. Babies can in fact turn all the way up to 40 weeks. It does get more difficult as the room disappears, but it does happen.
I agree. At 29 weeks, there is still a very good chance he will turn. If not, there are things they can do to help her or encourage him to turn. Worst case scenario is a c section, and that is not so horrible (I had one). But at 29 weeks, I really don't think its cause for concern yet. And I'm sorry...did I misunderstand? Starting to engage at 29 weeks? Perhaps this midwife has a slightly different definition of engage then my Dr. did, but that doesn't quite sound right to me. Anyone else? Now I am curious.
My little girl was breach till 34 weeks and by 35 weeks she turned. 29 weeks is kinda early so there's time to turn. Good luck
