7 weeks no fetal heartbeat

I'm 38 yrs old and have 3 children.... I was ligated 23 yrs ago and now decided to have another baby..... We had an IFV and after two weeks, my pregnancy test gave me a positive result. But unfortunatly my BHCG is only 1,200 in my 7th weeks... my last u/s was today and my OB said that the embryo increased its size but no heartbeat was found plus my BHCG is too low.... is there any hope  for us if i gave  a chance for another week?

My friend had weekly ultrasounds starting at 6 weeks and did see a heartbeat until 9 weeks, but there was growth between each ultrasound and she wanted to wait and her doctor was fine with it.

I agree with all that Heather said.  Wait and get one more.  It's always better to make sure before making any decisions.  I do wish you well.

I'm so sorry to hear of the lack of heartbeat and low HCG. By 7 weeks, the heartbeat should be visible on an ultrasound...but I wouldn't give up yet. Make sure you get another ultrasound in a week or so. Hopefully your little bean is just a little bit behind and all will look good next week.
