First OBGYN visit

I've made my first pregnancy appt with my OBGYN at 9 wks. Was told it would last 2 1/2 hours. My question is this...what happens while I'm there. I'm from New Zealand and our first appt doesnt last that long back home. What can I expect?

They will probably do vaginal ultrasound, pap, bloodwork, and time for questions.  Write your questions down in advance so you don't forget.  Also ask them about after hours--like covering physicians if it's a large practice-you'll want to learn how the office works if you have an issue and it's the middle of the night.
