Group B Strep

Hello everyone. So I'll be 9 months on Wednesday and I just received an email from my doctor stating I tested positive for GBS. I have done my research but I'm just writing to get some reassuring feedback. I can't help but worry a little :)

Cheers

I had 4 babies and was GBS+ with all 4. No issues with any of them. You'll be fine.

It's a low chance of danger to baby but they give you antibiotics via IV as precaution to minimize risk even further.  We have all kinds of bacteria living inside us and on our skin all the time.  GBS is just one that has potential to be risky.  You can't control it--it's just there. Don't stress about it at all.  I was able to walk around during labor but had to take the IV pole along.

I had that with my daughter and when i went into labor, they gave me something.  So you and the baby will be fine.

Don't worry. They will give you an antibiotic during l&d so baby won't be harmed. You'll be fine.
