I had a external version done at 38 weeks. I would never go through that again. It was so painful I didn't know if I was coming or going, but it was worth it because I didn't want a c-section. It took 2 doctors (one at the butt and one at the head) 45 minutes to flip my son. I asked my doctor if I could do anything to try and flip him on his own and they instructed me not to because of a possible cord injury, so it was done under ultrasound close to the OR incase I needed to have an emergency c-section. The heart rate of the baby can drop and they watch for cord injury. Good luck. Some doctor's will numb you for the procedure, so you may want to ask about that. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
my DD was breech my whole pregnancy. At 37 weeks I had my final u/s before they were going to do a version and found out she had finally flipped in her own!! I had her 2 days later so thank goodness! There is still time for baby to flip without help:) BTW- I felt her flip the day before and let me tell you, you will notice it that late in pregnancy:)
Someone in my baby class was breech and they put headphones at the bottom of the uterus and that baby turned towards the music! No more breech baby! Apparently they discovered this as a potential solution to turning a breech baby because when walkman's first came out everyone started playing music to their babies and there was an increase in the number of breech babies! They then recommended to keep the headphones low so the baby would turn. Simple solution; I hope it helps.
Look up the website "spinning babies" it's all about turning breech babies and those in a transverse lie. Mine has popped out of the pelvis and is now transverse at 36 weeks.
We are trying the inversion this week and I'll be calling my accupunturist too!
i would definitely recommend seeing a chiropractor that specializes in pregnancy as they have a pretty good success rate.
Babies often flip on their own very easily. I would not worry, you still have time!
My baby was mostly head down since week 28 (had weekly non stress tests with a quick ultrasound each time) but after my last plane trip at 34 weeks, he went breech. A week later he was back head down. I am sure he went up and down several times without my suspecting anything.
In the end he was head down but still I needed an emergency C-section.
My angel was breech for a long time and it didn't lok like she was going to turn but thanks to all the advice from the great ladies on here i got her to flip. The method i used was i just talked to her alot and told her she had to turn around for mommy so we don't have to have a c section and she did. Now i just hope she stays in place because she is very active. I go for a sonogram tomorrow and we will see. Good Luck!!!!!!
