I can not drink water anymore...Please Help Me.

Not sure if this is morning sickness, though I am experiencing it now at 5 am and have been up since 2:45 am.
I used to drink water all the time, now I can not look at it without getting queasy, and all I do is throw up if I smell or come into contact with it, I try sipping and all I do is throw up every time. I have tried it ice cold, with lemon and sucking on ice cubes. What is happening to me? Anyone please help, my ob/Gyn gave me anti-nausea pills that help but not with drinking water. I feel I am dehydrating my babies. I am drinking milk, ginger ale and fruit juice...but I am worried about sugar.

Anyone.

Benefiber or metamucil works.  I eat hot foods which is probably not good for some people...but it helps with constipation.  I am used to hot foods and the baby inside seems to like it.  I know people tell you not to eat hot foods but it worked for me. I wouldn't say burning hot cause that will just give you heartburn like crazy! *shrugs*. I am too addicted to hot foods. mmmm..spicy foods. If you mix in the benefiber with anything you can drink, you'll be feeling some relief within 24 hours. I did that at about six months into my last pregnancy cause I had bad constipation (when I couldn't eat too many hot foods because of the heartburn LOL).

I love, love, love Powerade Zero... not a big fan of water here either.  I drink the grape flavor, like two or three 32 oz bottles a day!  It isn't too overpowering a flavor (like the pink one.. it is too sweet for me.  But if you like really sweet flavored stuff you could try that one.  It tastes like a Jolly Rancher candy.  For me it is too much so I stick with the grape... or blue if they've run out, apparently it is pretty popular).

It seems with constipation different things work for different women.  For me, dried apricots did the trick along with lots of fluids (which of course is proving to be a challenge for you). Yogurt daily also helped alot, but a small handful of dried apricots daily really kept everything "moving".  Good luck.

I also had the worst nausea that made drinking water next to impossible.  The good news is that it did not last too long (the not being able to drink water part).  Like you, I worried about too much sugar (I did not want to drink things with artificial sweeteners as that seemed worse for the baby than sugar) but in the end I had no choice as I needed fluids and could not keep water down.  I was able to add some water to juice - so for a few weeks I drank nothing but watered down orange juice  For some strange reason I also could drink V8 - I never drink that stuff but I craved it in those weeks.  I think that bottom line is get down what you can manage and try not to worry too much (the same goes for food).  I know that is easier said than done as worrying comes with the territory, but in the end, babies are pretty resilient and get what they need from us regardless.  My son is now 7 weeks and thriving, despite being drowned in sugared juices that first trimester. Good luck!!

Try popsicles. They worked for me. Not too sweet but sweet enough. It's something about the cold that keeps the nausea at bay for a little bit. Gatorade also works well...you have to figure out what flavors you can handle cause some of them didn't seem to work right for me. Ginger ale sometimes helps if you have it really cold.  It really depends on you.  You have to try a few different things. All I know that it had to be really cold for me to work. Fortunately, my nausea has subsided quite a bit this week.  I was so bad at one point where nothing would stay in my stomach.  Try making some ice cubes of some of your favourite brand of water (if you don't like tap) and just munching on that works too. Also munching on some saltine crackers (I like salted myself) helps a bit. Just know that nausea is a good thing...it means your body is changing and adjusting itself to your little child inside. I was nauseous for most of my first pregnancy and she ended up being really healthy and wonderful!

Maybe try drinking unsalted kitchen basic chicken or beef stock mixed 50/50 with smart water (it has electrolytes in it).

I agree, try adding different things until you find something that works.  It is important to stay hydrated.  It should pass soon...typically as you get closer to end of first trimester.  Also, try nibbling on crackers or something else first.  Getting something into your tummy tends to help with the nausea, and might make it easier to get that much needed water into you.  Good luck, I hope you feel better soon!

I experienced this with my last pregnancy as well.  A friend of mine suggested Vitamin Water which was okay, but still pretty icky and artificial tasting.  Fresh oranges were really appealing since they are watery and will quench your thirst.  I'm not a juice drinker at all, but I did finally buy some lower sugar juices and then just water them down as much as I could tolerate.  That was about the only thing I could drink.

It will pass, but it is just a very icky feeling.  good luck to you!

Try flavored water, like that fruit 2 O and things like that.  Get low sugar juices.  As long as you are getting fluids in you wont dehydrate.  You also get water from the foods you eat.  Eat more fruit or veggies if you can.  Good luck.
