Irregular period

I'm 35, with usually regular periods. This month I was a week late.  Since it arrived, I've been bleeding with unusual clots and cramping for 11 days straight (my period usually lasts 5 days.) The soonest I can get an obgyn appointment is in 4 days. Should I be concerned? Are these signs of a possible miscarriage?

I've had three pregnancies that started like that, two ended in miscarriage and the other is currently the bub I'm carrying with 4 weeks to go. I know it's a worrying time but try to relax. Remember it's your body and your entitled to know whats going on. Have you tried a home pregnancy test?

It could have been a chemical pregnancy - very early miscarriage. I've had one and it was pretty much the same as what you describe. Many women have a chemical pregnancy and not even know they were pregnant in the first place.

I could have just been an really weird cycle. I would still go and see you obgyn, but if it was a miscarriage there isn't really a way to tell if it was or not. The only think they could do is a blood test to see if any hCG was in your system, but since it would have been very early it's unlikely the levels were high enough to still be in your system.
