Is jet travel safe?????

Is it safe to travel by jet , long flight from Atlanta to Colorado , 36-37 wks preg.

you need a doctor's written permission... and the airlines still might not let you on board... it's a legal issue and it's the boarding agent's call usually... I wouldn't chance it cause they're very cautious... an emergency landing costs a lot of money and aggravation for airlines...

if you're showing a lot ( and if they have any doubt), they won't risk it.

Most airlines will only let you on with permission in writing from your Dr.  It's really not a great idea for the most part, especially a long flight.

I don't think the airline let you on when you are 36 - 37 weeks.. They are afraid you might need medical emergency while on air..

Also I don't think the doctor will allow you to travel on those weeks.. around those weeks your cervix might dialate.

To be safe.. call the airline to see when is the cutoff for pregnant woman...

Airline may not let you on the plane at that point.  call the airlines...they have cutoffs for pregnant women; they don't want you to have a baby on the plane.  

It's questionable at  36/37 weeks...your OB will give you a better idea and it depends on what issues you may be having if any.   Some don't want you leaving the area after 36 weeks.

They will probably tell you if you can travel to drink a lot of water and move around a lot, to prevent a blood clot and/or swelling.
