It's this part of Contractions??

I woke up this morning and found out I lost my mucus plug. I called my OB, after I noticed light bleeding after losing it. They had me checked with a monitor for baby heart, and everything was fine with him, and I got sent home without being check for dilation. Now I feel like I want to do #2 but nothing comes out.I'm 39 weeks and 4 days. My baby due date is Jan 22! I just don't feel any strong cramps yet. What bothers me is the feeling of wanted to go do potty and nothing. Is this is part of the contraction?

Thanks ladies for replying. I didn't check these messages until now, it's 2:18 am. I am unable to sleep. I am having cramps. I believe this might be the contractions, because the pain is increasing. I am taking the time of rest and the time they start. It seems like an average of every 10 min. Or more. A pain that last around a minute, comes and goes. I am about to call my OB right now.

Baby may have dropped low and be engaged and put pressure on your rectum and bladder preparing for labor.

It's rare, but some women do not feel contraction. If you feel the need to go to the bathroom, but nothing is happening. I recommend going and getting checked. It will not hurt anything to make sure. You don't want to end up on a scary situation were the baby comes and end up delivering at home.

If ur not feeling contractions then labor hadn't started yet.  But probably within the next few days, u def r starting to dilate as that's why ur mucus plug falls out.  I had my baby 5 days before due date at 39wks and part of my mucus plug fell out on a Wed, and by Sat night, the rest of it came out.  I went into labor in the wee hrs Sunday morning and my son was born by early Sunday afternoon.  Oh and when I was in labor I def had the urge to poo, but the nurses didn't let me cuz they didn't think I knew the difference between needing to push baby and needing to poo..lol.
