dreams

I am currently 33 weeks and 2 days.. I'm having a hard time sleeping restfully.  I keep waking up with dreams of labor and delivery. I'm already a little freaked out about having a baby at my age I'm 42.  I had all my other three before I was 26 and was never afraid.. sigh...

You are not alone. When I sleep I have dreams of being in labor and wake up with contractions. They tend to slow down after that, so not sure if it's my brain recognizing what my body is doing or what my body is recognizing what my brain is doing. Although I have to say....based on one of my dreams...if I go into L&D and a girl is freaking out saying she's not in labor she's internally bleeding....i might chuckle based on one of the previously mentioned dreams.

I have been having all sorts of strange dreams with this pregnancy.  Your dreams are probably your body's way of addressing your anxiety about having a child at 42.  I haven't had anything like that, but I am 38 I guess it could happen.  Though hubby and I are planning a home birth.  My second child (age 14 now) was a home birth also, which was so much less stressful than my first "hospital" experience.  Try to do some things for yourself...like massage every couple weeks...whatever you can do to relax.  You will be fine.  Take care.
