Pregnancy after Cesarean

I am 38 and pregnant -due to have a cesarean in Ocotber. Does anyone know how long you really need to wait before you get pregnant again. I have read that doctors reccomend 18-24 months but at 38 I don't want to wait that long! I have also ready cases where women get pregnant 4-6 months later without any problems, do any of you have similiar stories?

my dr said to wait a year.  now i have a 6 month old dd born via c section and while i would love to try it again, i dont want to risk not being able to bf her for a whole year (i have my babies early).  i would wait long enough that its not a risk to you and your baby, 38 isnt old! Lol

i also have had 3 c-sections...but mine were futher apart.... i had my first with my daughter...she was 2 weeks late, and even being induced i had lack of progress...when i got preg with my oldest son almost 2 yrs later they wanted to do a vbac, but my experience with my daughter scared me so much i scheduled a c-section...then with my youngest son, i wanted to do a vbac and my doc would have let me had i gone into labor before my scheduled date, but since i didnt...then i am now destined to have c-section for all of my babies... i am trying for #4 now, and will have to settle for a c-section...but as long as the outcome of a happy, healthy baby is the same...i guess i am ok with that.

good luck and i send sticky baby dust to all who want it.

First child was emergency c/s because of umbilical chord, dr reccomending not to try VBAC.

you can get pregnant earlier than the 18-24 months, but be aware you will be having a repeat c/s.  doctors don't like vbac, but really don't like it soon after a c/s.  what is the reason you are planning c/s right now?  good luck!
