Update on Amanda (Adgal)...A little sad news

Amanda went for an ultrasound yesterday.  They told her that the placenta stopped supporting Ryder at 35 weeks and that she had no amontic fluid in the sac and that he was having a hard time breathing.  They told her to get to L&D ASAP.  She actually drove herself to the hospital in a severe panic (who wouldn't be...)  When she got to the hospital they did an emergency C-section.  Ryder was born last night at 7:30 p.m. (Canada time), he was 4 lbs 14 ozs and was 42 cm which is 16 1/2 inches long (if my measurements are correct).  He is in the NICU and will be staying there for a few days and she believes she will be coming home tomorrow or Monday.  Ryder is breathing on his own, but his sugar count is a little low.  She was able to nurse him today and it went very well.  She said he is the most beautiful little boy she has ever laid eyes on.  He has dark blonde hair and blue eyes.  She also said he is very very tiny, but just perfect to her.

She wasn't able to call anyone or give an update on the computer because she went right from her ultrasound to the hospital.  She actually left her wallet with her numbers in them where she had the ultrasound at.

She sounds really good, in good spirits and say's she can't believe she is finally a mommy and holding her beautiful son.  Let's please say and extra prayer for Ryder, but she's been assured that he is going to be just fine.

Debbie

wow what a miracle survival, bless that little soul! A little fighter to survive 3-4 weeks without nutrients from a placenta that stopped supporting him at 35 weeks and no amniotic fluid! How did he survive!??  Is that even possible to live without food and water
for 3-4 weeks? That is one real miracle baby. Whew.
