pregnancy tests - twins

Hi ladies:  How is everyone doing??  I have a question.  I just found out a few days ago that I am preggo with my 3rd child.  When I took my pregnancy test i had a BFP very quick then when i went to the doc to confirm everything they had the same result very fast.  I have twins now and i was told that if u have a pregnancy test show a result that fast that it could mean twins.  I was just wondering if this has ever happened to any of u ladies out there...  Thanks.

if anything, i would think the positive would be -darker-, not faster, if your hcg levels are higher.  just a thought.

I think it has a lot more to do with the brand and of course how far along you are then whether or not it's multiples.  When I have taken HPT's a week after O, they are slower to appear positive then if I wait until I have missed my AF.  I took another just for fun a few weeks ago (at 18 weeks pregnant) and that second line popped up instantly.  I also find that FRER shows faster then Clearblue....not sure if others have found that or not.  Whatever the case, congratulations on your pregnancy and I wish you a healthy happy 40 weeks!!

With both of my pregnancies my test was a dark positive the moment the urine hit the stick. Neither of my pregnancies resulted in twins. There is no truth to the fact of a fast result being a twin pregnancy.  That is not to say you are not carrying multiples. But like u said you will just have to wait it out until your scan.   Congrats! :)

Thanks for responding back to me and for the Congrats too!!!  I am happy and nervous about this whole thing.  The 1st time around I had a difficult pregnancy with the twins and I don't want a repeat performance.  I guess I have to wait 4 wks till my sonogram to see if it's 1 baby or 2.  I had 3 people tell me already that a fast result means multiples b/c my urine is so strong.  We have been trying since Feb to get preggo & I was getting very discourage & now look at us.  Good luck and lots of baby dust to the both of u.  I will let u know how I make out in 4 wks.

I've always had my tests pop up pos. very fast so I don't think that really means anything ( I could be wrong in your case!) but thats one I've never heard of before. Congrats by the way! Like Jeanie20 I am also hoping for a BFP this month. Sticky baby dust to you Jeanie20! Kim

Never happened to me, haven't heard of it before, but you never know.
I do know that the hcg in your system does tend to be higher if you are pregnant with twins.  Unfortunately you are probably just going to have to wait and see.
But congratulations on the pregnancy.....I'm hoping for one of my own this month.
