When you eat foods rich in iron don't eat or drink any dairy a few hours befor after or with. It blocks your body from absorbing the iron. This is the problem many anemic people have with out knowing and most docs fail to tell you they just tell you to pop iron pills.

They also make chewable iron that doesn't taste horrible. I've been buying mine off amazon since before i was pg since I'm anemic anyway. Makes it way easier to tolerate.
I like the Molasses suggestion too!
Cream of wheat and oatmeal are decent iron sources as well.
Im a nutritionist. Go and buy molasses! From a health shop. Its a black syrup and have a spoonful a day. Its rhe fastest way of giving your body iron and its natural and good for you. You wont have to do it for long as it reallt works quick. Im veggie and have managed to keep my iron levels healthy this way by just having it now and again. Goodluck
I hate tablets! Cant swallow them to save my life! :( i drink a thing called Spartone, you can get it from most chemists. Its boosted my levels up! Also i watched a show the other day that said Spinich isnt good for iron!
Lentil soup!
Put lentils in water for a couple of hours...
Chop onion, small can of tomato sauce, salt, pepper, 1 bay leaf and lentils and put all in pot... with water 3 fingers over the lentils..boil till lentils are tender... add half a cup of olive oil, take of the stove, add vinegar to taste.
That is an easy yummy recipe and I guarantee you eat that every once in a while you never have an iron problem again :)
P.S. Greek food
