I drink 2 8 ounce cups a day and did with my last pregnancy as well. My doctor said that is equivalent to the 200 mg.

I drink a cup of coffee every morning and have a soda every afternoon.  I did thru my first pregnancy and now this time.  I am 26 weeks now.  My daughter is 2 & 1/2 now.  She is very healthy. I never had any complications.

I've never been a coffee drinker but I do drink soda habitually. I've cut back my intake for sure but I work the overnight shift so having one can of Coke at work helps me to keep moving. I've got a wicked sweet tooth these days too, so probably with the chocolate I'm having more caffeine than I should... but baby is healthy, good solid heart rate, so although I'll continue to try to cut back I think I've done okay.

Caffeine is so strong.  (You forgot how strong bc you drink it everyday.)  I'm sure it's fine, because so many women do it but I'm too nervous.

Ya I also wondered if it raises  the baby's heart rate since it does yours.well I cut back instead of coffee maker I'm drinking instant which is less caffeine.all the older ladies in my family also said they have been drinking coffee threw there pregnancies and kids are fine. If I couldn't drink coffee I wouldn't know what to do

This may have been unrelated, but one day around my 29th week I was craving a cup of coffee and two days later I ended up in the hospital with a bleed. I have placenta previa so bleeding can be extremely serious. They monitored the baby's heart and it was fine. I was discharged went out and had a root beer. Again, not the norm for me.
The next day I had a routine ob appt, and the baby's heart beat was irregular. Now, I can't have any caffeine or chocolate period for fear that it will cause the baby's heart to race. The irregular HB may have been caused by anything but I believe it was the caffeine. Before this incident I hadn't had hardly any caffeinated drinks.

I drink a cup a day--when it tastes good. Coffee doesn't taste right sometimes.  I was heavy coffee drinker prepreg--4-5 cups a day.  With my first preg I drank 1-2  8 oz cups  a day after vomiting/nausea subsided around wk 15. Baby healthy, no issues. I always brew my own. If you're buying it at Starbucks it's bound to have more caffeine.

Chocolate has caffeine also.

I drink coffee everyday and well over the suggested limit. I have with all of my pregnancies and never had any trouble. The thing they worry about is in the first trimester because it is THOUGHT that large amounts of caffeine MAY increase a risk of miscarriage in the first couple months. I would stick to one cup during the first trimester but after that you don't really have a need to be so cautious.

I've always had one cup a day through all of my pregnancies. My kids have all been healthy.

I'm staying away from it this time. I had one cup a day with my 2nd, but had irregular heart beats (me, not the baby) that I think were caused at least in part by the caffeine.
I'm missing it though, and every once in a while, I'll have hot chocolate with an ounce or two of coffee, just for flavor.
