Can an u/s pick up on an early pregnancy?

Hello ladies,

Do you think an u/s can show a pregnancy in its early days?

My first appt. at fertility clinic is scheduled for Dec. 12.  I'll have an u/s taken that day and probably other tests.

I've had 2 miscarriages this past year and because I'm 42 I asked my dr. for a referral.  Both times I became pregnant in the first month of trying.  At this point I just want to learn about all my options and I want to get everything checked out to ensure I don't have other underlying problems that are contribiting to the m/c.  Not so sure about going the IVF route....I'm feeling that if it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be...that being said, I need to try again.  I feel this is my last year to try:(

I miscarried last October and will be ready to TTC this coming week.  My AF came on day 30 after m/c.

If I get pregnant this time, my fertility clinic appt. is 5 days before my AF is due.  (LOL this is how I plan...)
Sooo....I'm afraid if I POAS it might not show that Friday morning...if I'm pregnant, I don't want dr. inserting a balloon inside of my uterus to check for fibroids, etc.

I guess I'll just tell them that I'm TTC, right?  No point in rescheduling this appt, right? (And yes, I feel I have no time to waste so I want to TTC again.)

Thank you to both of you.  Calling ahead is a good idea if I can get a blood test beforehand.

I might call ahead and ask for bloodwork the day before your appointment.  That way they should have the results the day of.  HCG will usually show in blood about 6-8 DPO.  Good luck at your appointment!!!

Ultrasound usually pics up about 5-7 weeks where they check for sac, yolk, fetal pole. Fetal pole/heartbeat doesn't always show up during that time so don't painc (we did). I will say as far as sensitivity, I tested 2 days before I was supposed to (day 12) and my EPT said negative. Then 2 days later it said positive (as well as blood test). So you never know what baby has in store.

If anything you can say TTC and not sure if you are at the moment, they'll give a blood test or schedule your procedure further where you can know 100% if you are pregnant.

Good luck.
