Pregnant and 45-- 1st ultrasound

Went if for 1st scan today.  Was scared about what I would find.   The tech said she didn't think we would see a heartbeat because it wasn't 6 wks yet.  I told her I O early and thought I was a bit farther.  Well, there on the screen we found a sac, fetal pole and a heartbeat!  116--I think she was surprised.  I couldn't help it; I teared up.  Such a relief!  One more hurdle passed.  Only how many more to go.:)  She moved the date up to 6wk1d.

I sure do know what you mean.  And I am a total hypocrite as you couldn't get me off of google when I was pregnant.  Of course, it always just stresses you out more - plus you know there is a ton of false info out there.  But you know, you've made it to heartbeat and that is a huge milestone.  Half way to second trimester and then hopefully you can breathe a bit.  I'm not going to tell you not to worry - there is no way around that.  But I'm rooting for you, and it sounds like everything is going great!

Thanks missthang73!  And adgal; you know how addictive google can be.;)  I've been looking up everything I can think of.  With the 1st two; I just had this unshakable certainty that everything was going to be ok; even when things like a low hb popped up.  Can't find that place with this pregnancy; I've just been worried, and then that makes me worry too (if you know what I mean). :)

Thanks girls!  Its weird; I never worried this much about my other pregnancies, even though I was 39 and 43 when I delivered.  I don't know if I've just been reading too much stuff on the internet; like the depressing stats or what.  Hopefully its just that and not instinct or something.  Anyone else have this happen?
