contractions

I am 36 weeks and 4days pregnant with my first baby. I went in today for a normal ob appointment and my doctor said i am 3cm. Dialated and 80% effaced and that baby has dropped into position. But i haven't had contractions and she even said she is surprised i haven't felt any contractions.. So i guess my question is... Is there any one else who had not felt their contractions at first and if so how long until you started to feel them?

I had some bad contractions only one night and then they stopped. I know now though that i am having them due to my stomach tightening and a little discomfort. But nothing has hurt yet other then the one night. Its making me so much more impatient haha

I am 36+4 weeks today and I have had cramps everyday since I have been 35 weeks. I went to the ob and my cervix is just soft. Your lucky you might go into labor sooner than later. Maybe when u get more dilated you will start feeling contractions. Good luck and congrats!
