I'm 36 weeks now and I had a vaginal ultra sound just before 6 weeks and they found a heartbeat straight away. I had it early because I had been bleeding and have a history of miscarriage. Previously I had one at 8 weeks, was told it was inconclusive and I would have to come back a week later. A week later I was told there had been no fetal growth so it was clear my baby had died. In response to your question, it's really hard for them to know for sure before 8 or 9 weeks, sometimes they can see the pregnancy but not be sure it's viable as it's so tiny. Hang in there. The waiting is so hard. I really hope you get some positive news x

I have an US pic from my previous pregnancy. It has the weeks I was n I was 5 weeks n 3 days. U can see the sac but a very small baby. But alot of ppl don't get anything til a bit later. This pregnancy my doc scheduled me a bit later for the 1st US (9weeks) cuz he didn't want me to worry of nothing showed up. So ir might be just that. Or sometimes u ovulate late so u are actually less then what u thing u are so baby is still not showing. Just give it a few more weeks and keep ur faith up.

There's nothing to see at 5 weeks. I wouldn't worry.
