u/s results from er visit ..... confused :/

so yesterday i was in the er and they did an u/s...i posted because i frustrated that the er doc did not tell me anything except i have too much fluid in my uterus...i called my ob and found out that my u/s shows a sac but no fetal pole or heartbeat...i am about 5 weeks and the nurse said thats normal but again here i am worrying....

the only hope i have right now is that 1/27 my hcg was 4973 and yesterday 1/31 it was 15420....so it def went up...

since my hcg is so high shouldnt they be able to see the fetal pole or heartbeat by now...im freaking out yet again :(

At 5 weeks and 5 days I had a high hcg but no fetal pole or yolk sack either.  At 6 weeks and 1 days we saw a heartbeat.  It's just too early.

I am no specialist but at your stage not seeing the heartbeat does not necessarily mean anything. Your hcg numbers are rising nicely, keep up the hope!!

the nurse called me from the ob office and went to go talk to the doctor....i requested another u/s next week and she said that sounds like a good idea and will run it past the doc and call me back...

im so scared....the only thing im holding onto right now is my hcg levels have gone up...much better then last last time

I thought I was going to be on pins and needles for the entire time.  Try to calm down and enjoy everything right now.  At least you are not spotting like I am right now.

HCG levels are all over the map....there is a huge range of normal.  So you would not necessarily see much at 5 weeks just because you have a solid HCG level (which you do).  5 weeks is pretty early to see a heartbeat. That's why most Dr.s won't do an ultrasound until about 7 or 8 weeks unless there is spotting or somthing.  It honestly causes more stress most of the time then anything else.  Typically the heart starts between 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 weeks.  I saw my little guys heartbeat at 6w2d.  I know this is scary...I was scared too.  I just took it day by day and tried really hard to keep my anxiety levels down.  When are they doing a follow up ultrasound?
