My hospital tour was after my birthing classes but then again my birthing classes were through my doctor's office not the actual hopsital itself

oh well that wouldn't be to bad....i though they used your baby and were taking turns learning stuff I'd have been freaking out.....I am really getting excited about next Tuesday since that's gonna be my first birthing class I am excited to meet other pregnant women.

It was actually fine. The instructor is one of the very nice labor and delivery nurses and none of the couples in the class went too close to baby. Plus, I was right there the whole time too. They showed how to bathe, diaper change and swaddling, plus newborn things like the cord, identity bracelets, etc. It was fun to show off my beautiful baby too.

I think it depends on the birthing class and how your hospital designs them. Our provided a birthing center tour at one class, and also a newborn baby introduction and care with one of the babies from the nursery.

Funny thing is that the same birthing class instructor came and asked if they could use my baby when we were in the hospital after the c-section. I said yes and was able to go along to watch too.

For my first, I didn't take any birthing classes (I was scheduled C section), so I just scheduled an appointment to tour both hospitals in my town.

This time, I'm a scheduled C section again, so I made an appointment in May to tour the hospital I've chosen. I hope it's okay, because that's the hospital my doc delivers at!

when I called to schedule my class they said they do the tour after so I didn't need to schedule a separate trip for the tour - but i would confirm with your hospital.
